GDI International Leadership Summit

Would you prayerfully allow the Holy Spirit to speak to you about what you might do to make this gathering a reality?

GDI International Leadership Summit: A Historic Ministry-Shaping Event

For the first time since launching the Global Discipleship Initiative (GDI) in 2016, we are gathering our international team in person—for five days in one location. I believe this will be a defining moment. Bringing together our core team of present and emerging leaders will serve as a launching pad for greater impact as we step into the future by advancing our role in the Kingdom of God on earth.

Here is what I see taking place in our time together:

  • We will celebrate ten years of our global growth—growth that has far surpassed our expectations. We will share the story of the birth and expansion of GDI, as reflected in the lives and presence of those gathered at this summit.
  • We will worship together around the throne of our mission-sending God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. In this tranquil setting, we will experience spiritual renewal as we rest in His presence.
  • We will deepen relationships. In MicroGroups of four, we will share our faith journeys and disciplemaking stories, strengthening our partnerships. I picture us walking side by side through the grounds, forming deeper connections as we go into the future.
  • We will learn together and from one another. Our shared focus will be to unveil the vision for GDI through 2035 and explore how we will bring it to life.

A.    We see regional hubs being formed on continents we are calling “zones.” To accomplish our vision of having at least one MicroGroup-based, disciplemaking church in every country of the world, we will want to raise up regional leaders and teams. Leadership development is the critical element.

B.    We will be internalizing a foundational document we call the “GDI DNA” that outlines five core elements to define who we are. This gathering provides opportunities for input that will shape our mission for the future as well as adopt the key leadership development strategies.

  1. Our mission, vision, and values are the heartbeat that drives everything we do.
  2. A commitment to Jesus-style disciplemaking is intentional, relational, and transformative.
  3. MicroGroups are our proven means for multiplying and transforming disciples.
  4. Discipleship Essentials is our core curriculum for laying a solid foundation.
  5. MicroGroup-based churches are the key marker of success in advancing the mission.

THE NEED FOR FINANCIAL SUPPORT

Would you be willing to sponsor one of the 30 leaders from the continents of Africa, Asia, Europe, and North America in whatever way the Lord leads you?

As you can imagine, this project requires considerable funding. Would you prayerfully allow how the Holy Spirit might say that you could take part in making this happen? Let me break down the costs as follows:

______$750/per person: (includes in-country expenses per person: two hotel stays in Manila, first and last nights; transportation for over 30 people to and from the retreat center; four nights and 3 meals a day at the retreat center).

______$1200/airfare per person: The estimated average of flights from all over the world per person.

or

______$1950/TOTAL cost per person
