Refreshed Vision

How do we make reproducing disciples in the CONTEXT of the transformative environment of a MicroGroup while using the CONTENT of Discipleship Essentials to lay a Biblical foundation in the lives of Christian believers?

Terry English is the President of Enter L, a leadership consulting group. In the fall of 2024, GDI “hired” Terry as our consultant to help us move from into a flourishing future with a refreshed vision and the missional means to get there.

In the process Terry came to appreciate how we make reproducing disciples in the context of the transformative environment of a MicroGroup while using the content of Discipleship Essentials to lay a Biblical foundation in the lives of Christian believers.

You can’t get a better endorsement than having your consultant become a practitioner of your approach.

From consultant to practitioner

Although I have known Greg Ogden for many years, in the fall of 2024 I started to walk alongside the Global Discipleship Initiative (GDI) as an organizational consultant, helping them create systems and structures to better enable GDI to support and equip local churches to adopt the MicroGroup disciplemaking approach.
I have spent the past 18 years equipping local church youth ministries across Central and Eastern Europe to fulfill the Great Commission and have helped create disciplemaking systems and curriculum that are used across Europe.
Even so, the deeper I looked into the GDI model and spoke with churches who have adopted this approach, the more I realized that the GoMicro model is not only the most impactful disciplemaking model I have ever come across.
The reason is that it is based on the model of how Jesus equipped his disciples--small groups of people, growing together, with the clear goal of helping other people become mature followers of Jesus.
I have been so impressed by this model that last year I introduced it to the leaders of my own church. We have several great "evangelistic" programs but have consistently struggled with helping new and old believers become mature, reproducing followers of Jesus.
The leadership team had spent months trying to solve this problem, and realized that the GDI approach, while not being a “quick fix” is certainly the one most likely to not only end our struggles, but also better prepare us to respond to the outpouring of the Holy Spirit in our city that we have been praying for.
Our church has now started down the pathway of adopting the GoMicro model of disciplemaking, and we look forward to walking alongside our members, old and new, as they become mature, reproducing followers of Jesus Christ.

We serve, empower and equip leaders so they can love growing their organizations.

Terry was with us at the GDI Leadership Retreat in October 2025 to see the impact around the world, listening and talking with GoMicro directors of continents and countries. Catching the vision about making disciples who make disciples determines the how to.

Information Doesn’t Transform—Relationships Do
The church doesn’t need more content. It needs more courage to walk with people where they really are and love them into transformation.
How Jesus Built Transformation Without Programs
Let’s talk about the power of relationships over programs, lifestyle over classes.
