Ukraine Mass Blackout Severe: Help Outreach

In the freezing winter, when there is no electricity, heating, or water, hot food becomes a lifeline. A warm meal helps people survive the cold, restores strength, and reminds them that they are not forgotten. Families, elderly people, and children in Kyiv are enduring extreme conditions.

Dear Dr. Ogden,

As you know we are facing overwhelming challenges. Right now Kyiv is facing a mass blackout and severe water shortages. Metro stations and trams are not operating. In some districts there is no electricity or heating at all; in other districts power comes on for only three to five hours a day.

For the last three Sundays, while preaching in church, I could see my own breath. The hall was unbearably cold. People in Kyiv are trying to survive the winter without heat or electricity.

Families, elderly people, and children are freezing in their homes, churches, and shelters.

The need is urgent or warmth, basic supplies, humanitarian aid, and spiritual care.

Despite these conditions, we continue to serve our neighborhood. We cook hot food on the streets, help people charge their phones, provide a place where it is at least a little warmer, and support our daughter and partner churches, bringing the light of Christ in the darkness.

Next week, temperatures in Kyiv are expected to drop to –20°C to –25°C (–4°F to –13°F), while the threat of massive ballistic missile and drone attacks is growing again. In the face of these obstacles, your prayers and support mean more than words can say.

In the freezing winter

When there is no electricity, heating, or water, hot food becomes a lifeline. A warm meal helps people survive the cold, restores strength, and reminds them that they are not forgotten. Families, elderly people, and children in Kyiv are enduring extreme conditions. By supporting this work, you help us:

  • provide hot meals on the streets;
  • create warm and safe spaces;
  • deliver basic humanitarian aid;
  • share the love and hope of Christ.
Your support is not just help; it is survival, dignity, and hope.

Together, we can bring warmth into the cold and light into the darkness.

Thank you for standing with Kyiv.
